Hill McGlynn is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded residential developer, currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Dartford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company known for delivering high-quality, traditional build residential developments across the South East.

This is a pivotal role, office-based, reporting directly to the Southern Commercial Director, and offers the chance to take ownership of multiple live sites and support the wider commercial function.

The Role:

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple residential schemes, from pre-construction through to final account. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably, within budget, and to the company’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Full commercial management of traditional build housing developments

* Preparing budgets, forecasts, and detailed cost plans

* Managing procurement and subcontractor packages

* Handling valuations, variations, and final accounts

* Using COINS software for reporting, procurement, and cost tracking

* Providing commercial reports and analysis to the Commercial Director

* Supporting and mentoring junior QS staff where required

Ideal Candidate Profile:

* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the residential development sector

* Strong background in traditional build housing projects

* Proficient in COINS software – essential for this role

* Excellent contract knowledge (JCT or similar) and negotiation skills

* Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

* Strong leadership, communication, and commercial analysis skills

* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field
