Location
The role is based at the company head office in Winchester. There will be a need to visit project and Client locations, generally based in Hampshire and surrounding counties, including London where Rekan has a satellite office.
Hours of work
- The role is full time – normal working hours will be 42.5 hours per week
- Typically working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00
- Your working hours may need to be flexible to suit project/Client needs
Job role/duties
To be responsible for the successful delivery of projects in a consultant Project Manager role, generally including the following activities/duties:
- Administration of project team meetings (including chairing and recording via meeting notes)
- Administration of updates with Client representative(s)
- Attending Client Advisory/Steering Group meetings
- Production of formal progress reports
- Production of end of stage approval reports
- Stakeholder liaison/management
- Administration of consultant appointments/fees
- Development of procurement strategy/work package schedule
- Supporting contractor procurement including quality assessment/scoring
- Supporting procurement of ‘Client direct’ FF&E packages
- Management of site surveys/investigations
- Administration of Client and User review meetings and formal sign-off process
- Management/coordination of design development
- Supporting the development of budget cost plans/reports
- Management of statutory/3rd party approvals
- Administration of change management system
- Development and monitoring of strategic programme
- Development and monitoring of risk register
- Development of site logistics plans/strategy
- Administration of contractor pre-start meeting(s)
- Monitoring of progress/works on site
- Management of project completion/handover
- Management of building occupation/soft landings
- Administration of post-project review meeting and lessons learned report
- Management of end of defects period process
Person specification/attributes
The following characteristics, experience and qualifications are considered important for successful delivery of the role:
- Experience providing similar Client-side consultancy role.
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written including the ability to liaise with and manage stakeholders at all levels including supplier, contractor, project team and Client.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and Asta EasyPlan (or similar programming software).
- Good knowledge and understanding of the CDM regulations and general construction H&S legislation/requirements.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and deal with potential issues/conflicts in a professional and reasoned manner.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce well structured information/documentation with appropriate rigour.
- Good team player with a strong focus on building relationships and fostering a collaborative environment within the project team.

Training/development
Subject to successful completion of the probationary period, we would look provide training courses/qualifications as required to support/develop your job role and typically including:
- Support in route to professional qualification to be reviewed/agreed.
- Health & Safety – various training courses related to first aid, asbestos and CDM Regulations 2015
- Any other relevant Professional Development courses
In addition to the above Rekan regularly runs Continued Professional Development (CPD) training sessions in house on relevant office, administrative and site/project related practices.
