Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Ridgeway & Co are working with a well-established and growing specialist subcontractor delivering high-quality packages for main contractors and developers in London. The Opportunity

Our client is to strengthen their commercial team at their Essex HQ, with the addition of a Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has practical experience in estimating or quantity surveying, whether from a main contractor or specialist subcontractor background, and is looking for a supportive company to develop and grow with.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist with the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates and tender submissions

* Carry out material take-offs and measurement from drawings and specifications

* Support the management of subcontractor and supplier enquiries and quotations

* Assist with cost reporting, valuations and variations

* Work closely with the Senior Estimator and QS team to track costs and maintain budgets

* Attend site visits when required to understand scope and progress

* Help ensure all project cost information is kept up to date and accurate

What We’re Looking For

* Minimum 1 year of practical experience in estimating or quantity surveying (essential)

* Background with a main contractor or subcontractor, both are welcome

* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

* Good understanding of take-offs and measurement principles

* Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude

* Confident communication and teamwork skills

* Commutable to East London / Essex – close to the Central Line
