Building Surveyor (Part time work available), One Consulting Group

Benefits: Up to £68,000 inclusive of bonus + 30 days holiday + healthcare
Location: Hybrid working pattern: 2–3 days per week at a preferred office location (Cuffley or Littlehampton), with regular home working and travel to client offices and sites.

As a Building Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping support our growth plans and develop our Building Consultancy services, driving continuous improvement and ensuring high standards are maintained across all our services.

What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for providing a full building surveying service to our clients while also supporting the internal team with technical queries.
- Provide technical and professional building services covering, employer’s agent, project management, design and contract administration services for multiple construction projects running simultaneously.
- Manage internal resources, contract drafting, and where applicable, managing other technical consultants as part of the design team.
- Manage principal contractors and ensure projects are tailored to meet the clients commission, are value for money and meet all objectives around time, cost and quality
- Communicate with both internal and external parties ensuring all information is available for the successful implementation and completion of projects to a high standard.
- Fulfil all duties on the client’s behalf including those required by the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2015.
- Maintain relationships with existing clients and develop new client contacts and business opportunities.
- Develop relevant knowledge and skills and maintain an up-to-date awareness of all necessary legislation affecting the technical aspects of building surveying, sharing knowledge and information where appropriate.
What we’re looking for
- Membership of a professional body MRICS or MCIOB
- Degree in Building Surveying or similar
- Experience working within property & construction industry with evidence of project delivery ideally within public sector
- Advanced theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge in professional building surveying
- In depth knowledge of building/facilities management contracts eg JCT contracts
- Strong stakeholder management
- Good communication skills for liaising with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, ensuring accuracy and quality in all deliverables
