Senior Building Surveyor (Part time work option available)
Benefits: Up to £78,000 inclusive of bonus + 30 days holiday + private healthcare
Location: Hybrid working pattern: 2–3 days per week at a preferred office location (Cuffley or Littlehampton), with regular home working and travel to client offices and sites.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping support our growth plans and develop our Building Consultancy services, driving continuous improvement and ensuring high standards are maintained across all our services.

What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for providing a full range of building consultancy and surveying services to our clients while also supporting the internal team and will:
- Act as the lead consultant to manage, lead, motivate and inspire a multi-disciplinary team of internal and external staff to deliver projects and to act as technical lead across the building consultancy team.
- Manage all aspects of the client relationship ensuring OCG remain a trusted partner, and manage the delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered meeting all objectives around time, cost and quality.
- Manage all client duties and act as Principal Designer under both Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and for Building Regulations (non HRB).
- Conduct and overseeing a wide range of property surveys, feasibility and inspections
- Diagnosing defects and preparing detailed remedial specifications
- Acting as lead consultant and/or contract administrator on larger works
- Mentor, coach and develop the team
What we’re looking for
- Membership of a professional body e.g. MRICS or MCIOB
- Degree in Building Surveying or similar
- Significant relevant experience working within property & construction industry with evidence of project delivery ideally within the public sector
- Proven experience, practical & procedural knowledge in professional building surveying services and managing projects, including specification writing.
- Considerable depth of knowledge of relevant statutory property legislation including planning and building regulations, JCT contracts and CDM regulations
- Strong stakeholder management
- Strong leader, with good communication and attention to detail
- A methodical, problem-solving mindset with a customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
