M&E Draughtsman

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented M&E Draftsperson to support the design, coordination, and delivery of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) packages across a range of construction and fit-out projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in building services and a passion for well-coordinated, efficient design.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed and coordinated M&E service drawings including layouts, schematics, and builders’ works.

*

Prepare mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and public health services layouts to align with architectural and structural designs.

*

Work closely with design consultants, subcontractors, and project teams to gather necessary technical information.

*

Ensure all M&E designs are fully coordinated with other disciplines and comply with current building regulations and client requirements.

*

Carry out clash detection and resolve coordination issues where necessary.

*

Update and amend drawings based on mark-ups, site changes, or design revisions (including as-builts).

*

Attend design coordination meetings and contribute to project planning and resolution of design issues.

*

Maintain drawing standards and ensure technical accuracy across all deliverables.

Requirements

Essential:

*

Proven experience as an M&E Draftsperson in the construction or fit-out sector.

*

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems and coordination practices.

*

Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit and Navisworks experience is an advantage.

*

Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.

*

Strong understanding of UK building regulations and M&E installation practices.

*

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage workload and deadlines.

Desirable:

*

Experience in 3D/BIM coordination.

*

Exposure to residential, and mixed-use.

*

Knowledge of sustainable building systems and energy efficiency considerations
