Commissioning engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on a major water infrastructure project. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team delivering critical improvements to the UK’s water and wastewater networks.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, manage, and execute commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and process systems related to water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of pumps, valves, control systems, and instrumentation.
Ensure all commissioning activities meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Produce commissioning documentation, including ITPs, test reports, and O&M handover documents.
Collaborate closely with contractors, project managers, and client representatives to ensure successful project delivery. Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in commissioning within the water sector (clean or wastewater).
Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, control systems, and plant equipment.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g. WIMES, CDM regulations).
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
