Quantity Surveyor

A leading contractor in the façades and recladding sector is seeking a skilled and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Dartford (and travel to sites based in: Battersea, Clapham, Kingston & Hackney). This role is ideal for candidates with strong external envelope experience and a track record of working for Main Contractors or Tier 1 subcontractors. You'll play a key role in delivering financial oversight across a portfolio of complex external works projects.

📌Requirements:

– Experience with Main Contractors or Tier 1 subcontractors
– Strong knowledge of external façades, cladding and envelope systems
– Proficient with cost management tools (e.g. Causeway, Candy, CATO, Excel)
– Familiarity with Asta Powerproject, MS Project, or Bluebeam is beneficial
– Solid understanding of NEC and JCT contracts

📌Your responsibilities include(s):

– Prepare initial cost estimates and project budgets
– Analyse drawings and specifications to forecast material and labour costs
– Advise on procurement strategies and contract types

– Prepare tender documentation and Bills of Quantities (BoQs)
– Manage tendering processes and analyse contractor bids
– Support the selection and appointment of subcontractors and suppliers

– Review and administer construction contracts (NEC & JCT)
– Ensure contractual compliance and manage variations and amendments

– Conduct site valuations and agree interim payments with contractors
– Certify completed works and prepare applications for payment
– Monitor project cash flow and expenditure

📌**Preferred Qualifications:**
– BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying
– MRICS or AssocRICS (via APC pathway)
– MCIOB (Chartered Institute of Building)
