Role Overview
This role requires a technically competent façade engineer with a strong background in building physics. You will lead and support project teams to develop innovative, sustainable building envelope solutions, ensuring high performance and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities
*
Collaborate with and lead project teams to resolve façade-related technical challenges
*
Develop design information including presentations, specifications, and strategic façade advice
*
Recommend cladding strategies and detail interface solutions
*
Conduct thermal assessments (2D, 3D, static and dynamic) of envelope details
*
Analyse building envelope hygrothermal and solar performance
*
Evaluate compliance with Building Regulations Part L (including SAP for residential buildings)
*
Carry out moisture migration analyses and WUFI assessments
*
Assess daylighting performance and compliance with relevant standards
*
Apply dynamic modelling to evaluate energy use, carbon emissions, thermal comfort, and overheating risks
*
Optional: Use scripting or data visualisation tools to enhance analysis
Team Responsibilities
*
Supervise day-to-day building physics tasks within the façade team
*
Organise and monitor resource allocation for building physics activities
*
Prepare technical reports and performance specifications
*
Review and provide feedback on reports prepared by façade contractors
*
Present findings and recommendations to clients and design teams
Candidate Requirements
*
Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Technology or a related field
*
Minimum 6 years’ experience with a leading UK-based façade consultancy
*
Demonstrated experience delivering building envelope physics assessments on commercial and residential projects
*
Strong technical communication and reporting skills
*
Proactive, collaborative, and eager to contribute within a dynamic team environment
