Salary:£16-£22 per hoour (DOE)
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Site Technician to join our Materials Testing team. You will be responsible for performing on-site sampling and testing of construction materials including soils, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct site-based sampling and testing of construction materials (e.g. concrete slump tests, compaction tests, core sampling, etc.).

Prepare and transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing.
*
Accurately complete test reports, site records, and other documentation as required.
*
Ensure all tests are performed to relevant British Standards, BS EN, or other applicable codes.
*
Liaise with site managers, engineers, and clients to ensure proper coordination and reporting.
*
Maintain equipment in good condition and ensure calibration records are up to date.
*
Comply with all company and client health & safety procedures and policies.
*
Provide support to laboratory staff as required.
Essential Requirements
*
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
*
Valid UK driving licence (full, clean).
*
Good physical fitness – the role involves lifting, manual work, and working outdoors in various conditions.
*
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
*
Previous experience in a materials testing or construction environment.
*
CSCS card (or willing to obtain).
*
Knowledge of relevant standards such as BS 1377, BS EN 12350, etc.
*
Construction-related NVQ, BTEC, or ONC qualification.
*
First Aid or other health & safety certifications.
Working Conditions
*
Primarily site-based with travel to various construction and civil engineering sites.
*
Occasional weekend, early morning, or evening work may be required based on project demands.
