Mobile Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Mechanical Mobile Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for installation, servicing, fault finding, and planned maintenance across a variety of high-end residential, commercial, and retail sites.

This is a mobile role with varied day-to-day tasks, ideal for a multi-skilled engineer confident with both mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation, servicing, and fault finding on:

MVHRs (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery)

*

Extract fans

*

AHUs (Air Handling Units)

*

FCUs (Fan Coil Units)

*

HIUs / CIUs (Heat / Cooling Interface Units)

*

Air Source Heat Pumps

*

Hot Water Cylinders

*

Pumps

*

Trace Heating

*

Heat Exchangers

*

Potable Water Systems (L8 Regulations)

*

Emergency Lighting (testing & inspection)

*

Fire Alarm Systems (testing & basic fault finding)

*

Electrical wiring (all experience levels considered)

*

BMS (Building Management Systems – basic understanding desirable)

*

Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), small installation works, and reactive maintenance

*

Diagnose faults and implement timely and effective solutions

*

Provide high standards of customer service across all sites

*

Maintain clear and accurate records using digital job systems

*

Participate in a 1-in-6 week on-call rota for out-of-hours response (additional pay)

*

Ensure compliance with health & safety and site-specific regulations

Requirements

Essential:

Previous experience in a similar multi-skilled role

Solid mechanical background with fault-finding capabilities

Experience working across residential, commercial, or retail sectors

Full UK Driving Licence (role involves travel)

CSCS or ECS card

Computer literacy (for job management systems and reporting)

Desirable:

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)

*

City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

*

Experience with L8 water hygiene compliance and reporting

*

Familiarity with building automation (BMS) and controls
