Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Assistant Quantity Surveyor – East London – Up to £55,000 + Package

Walker & Sloan are supporting a longstanding contractor who pride themselves on delivering high-quality schemes across London and the South East. They’re now looking to expand their commercial team with an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is keen to develop their career on a variety of exciting live projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to grow in a structured, supportive business that values long-term development and has a strong record of promoting from within.

The Role:

You’ll be working closely with a Senior Quantity Surveyor across multiple sectors including education, residential, and community projects. The role will expose you to both pre-construction and delivery phases, giving you valuable all-round experience in the QS discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

Support with cost planning and subcontractor procurement

Assist in the preparation of valuations and final accounts

*

Site visits, measurements, and subcontractor liaison

*

Maintain contract compliance and monitor variations

*

Contribute to internal CVRs and reporting cycles

Requirements:

*

HNC or degree in Quantity Surveying (or similar discipline)

*

Some experience (placement or post-grad) with a main contractor or consultancy

*

Willingness to learn and develop under mentorship

*

Strong numeracy, communication, and Excel skills

*

Based within a 45-minute commute of East London

Package & Benefits:
