A well-established and award-winning main contractor with a strong presence in London is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This is a pivotal role, offering full autonomy to manage and deliver complex residential schemes, often involving reinforced concrete (RC) frame structures.

You will act as the sole Project Manager on-site, reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager, and be responsible for leading the project team from start to finish.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction delivery, ensuring the highest standards in safety, quality, and programme performance. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone with a solid background in residential or mixed-use developments and RC frame construction.

Key Responsibilities

Full responsibility for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

*

Lead, manage, and coordinate all on-site activities, including subcontractors and supply chain partners.

*

Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and construction regulations.

*

Oversee daily site operations and ensure safe working practices are maintained.

*

Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and proactively address risks or delays.

*

Drive team performance and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

*

Contribute to post-project reviews and share key learnings with the wider team.

Requirements

*

Trade background or relevant qualification in construction or site management.

*

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Project Manager or Project Lead role with a principal contractor.

*

Strong background in residential construction and RC frame projects.

*

SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS certification required.

*

Commercially astute with excellent planning and cost control abilities.

*

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

*

Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice.
