Freelance Commercial Manager – London – 12 Months
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Freelance Commercial Manager to join our client, who are a leading engineering company in Central London.
This is a 12 month contract, offering a competitive daily rate of up to £550 per day.
You will be instrumental in overseeing all commercial aspects, ensuring financial control, risk mitigation, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management: Administering and managing contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT), including drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
Commercial Strategy: Developing and implementing commercial strategies to maximise profitability and mitigate financial risks.
Cost Control & Reporting: Overseeing cost control, forecasting, budgeting, and preparing detailed commercial reports for senior management.
Procurement & Tendering: Managing the procurement process from tender to award, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations.
Variation Management: Identifying, valuing, and negotiating variations and claims effectively.
Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Risk Management: Proactively identifying commercial risks and opportunities, developing mitigation plans.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on large-scale projects, ideally within the M&E sector.
Demonstrable expertise in managing complex contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving financial targets.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work autonomously and integrate effectively with project teams.
Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) is highly desirable.
