We are looking for an experienced fire and AOV installer to carry out the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire safety systems and Automatic Opening Vent systems within social housing properties, ensuring compliance with current fire safety legislation and industry standards. The role is key in supporting the organisation’s commitment to providing safe, compliant homes for tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install and commission fire alarm systems, smoke ventilation (AOV) systems, fire dampers, and associated safety equipment in residential buildings.
* Conduct fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance on existing fire and AOV systems.
* Ensure all work complies with relevant fire safety regulations (BS 5839, BS 7346, etc.) and internal company procedures.
* Liaise with tenants, housing officers, and contractors to ensure works are carried out efficiently and with minimal disruption.
* Accurately complete job sheets, compliance documentation, and certification to ensure full audit trail of works.
* Carry out inspections and testing to verify systems are operating correctly and in line with fire safety requirements.
* Attend emergency call-outs and provide technical support as needed.
* Work closely with the compliance team to identify areas for improvement or upgrades.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles to a high standard.
Requirements: Essential:
* Proven experience installing and maintaining fire alarm and AOV systems.
* Good understanding of current fire safety legislation and British Standards (e.g., BS 5839, BS 9999, BS EN 12101).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Full UK driving lisence
