🔧 About the Role:

An excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to join an established in-house design team within a successful main contractor environment.

You’ll play a lead role in designing and delivering electrical building services across a range of residential-led construction projects, with a strong focus on design and build and regeneration.

You’ll collaborate closely with architectural and construction teams from early design stages (RIBA 3-4) through to delivery, shaping cost-effective, compliant, and sustainable solutions.

📐 Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of electrical services across multiple live projects

• Produce specifications and detailed drawings aligned to industry standards (IET, British Standards, Building Regs)

• Coordinate with in-house and external design teams to ensure fully integrated designs

• Attend design team meetings and project sites as required

• Contribute to value engineering and advise on alternative materials/methods

• Deliver work to programme and maintain quality throughout

• Introduce standardised design solutions where possible

✅ What We're Looking For:

• Responsible for the design of electrical services for design and build contracts, in accordance with all current industry recognised design guides, IET, British Standards and Building Regulations etc.

• Assist project staff in providing general design input, as required, to all RIBA work stages (mainly 3-4 design and build)

• Work efficiently with the in-house Architectural Design Department and external design teams accordingly

• Attend design team meetings and project sites as necessary

• Advise on cost effectiveness of alternative design methods/product specifications

• Produce drawings and specification packages based on Employer’s

• Degree-qualified in Electrical or Building Services Engineering

• Significant experience in electrical building services design within the residential new build sector

• Strong understanding of PV, UPS, lighting, fire alarms, and access control systems

• Confident working across all design stages, particularly RIBA Stages 3–4

• Excellent appreciation of other design disciplines

• Able to manage workload independently, while being a proactive team player

• Stable employment history and strong technical grounding preferred

• Membership of a professional institute (e.g., CIBSE or IET) is desirable
