Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer – West Sussex – Industrial

We are currently working with a well-established MEP contractor operating throughout the UK in a range of sectors including, education, healthcare, technology and commercial. There is an urgent need for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team on a range of Industrial projects in West Sussex.

Responsibilities

* Technical Oversight of Electrical Systems:

Support the delivery of LV power, containment, lighting, fire alarm, and building systems. Ensure installations comply with project drawings, technical specifications, and client standards.

* Design Coordination & RFI Management:

Review electrical schematics, layouts, and cable schedules. Raise and manage RFIs, coordinate with design consultants and BIM teams, and resolve on-site technical issues proactively.

* Procurement & Material Management:

Prepare electrical material take-offs, support procurement of key components (e.g. distribution boards, lighting, cable tray), and track deliveries to ensure alignment with programme.

* QA, Testing & Compliance:

Assist with inspections, test pack preparation, and witness testing for electrical systems. Ensure works meet QA/QC requirements and comply with industry regulations (e.g. BS7671).

* Progress Monitoring & Site Reporting:

Track progress of electrical works on-site, flag risks or delays early, and assist the Electrical Project Manager with technical input, updates, and coordination at site meetings.

Requirements

* Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a stable track record with a Main or Subcontractor background

* Must have excellent communication skills (Verbal & Written)

* Must have relevant degree level qualification or equivalent trades’ background

* Must have 5+ years’ experience in a similar position on industrial construction projects
