We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a Tier 1 main contractor on a major £40 million+ high-rise development in central Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a landmark city-centre project, with future work secured across the region for the next decade.

This role offers long-term stability and the chance to work within a highly reputable contractor known for delivering complex, large-scale developments to the highest standards.

Role Overview

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of various key work packages, which may include groundworks, RC frame and structure, external works, and internal fit out. You will play a central role in ensuring works are delivered to programme, budget, and specification while maintaining high safety and quality standards on site.

You will report to the Project Manager and work closely with subcontractors, consultants, and the wider site team to drive progress and resolve issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate specific construction packages from planning through to completion

Monitor programme delivery, ensuring milestones are met and delays mitigated

Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure effective site operations

Conduct regular site inspections and enforce health and safety protocols

Review and implement RAMS, method statements, and quality assurance procedures

Coordinate logistics and materials to meet project deadlines

Lead site progress meetings and maintain accurate site records and reporting

Identify and resolve site-based issues to ensure uninterrupted workflow

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience working with Tier 1 main contractors on major developments

A strong background in managing multiple work packages, ideally on high-rise residential or commercial projects

Alternatively, experience in leading projects valued at £30 million+ from start to completion

Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, health & safety legislation, and quality standards

Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced city-centre environment

CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work are essential

Temporary Works Coordinator and/or Appointed Person qualifications would be advantageous

Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
