Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure

Vertical Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected global engineering and consultancy firm to appoint a Quantity Surveyor and an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their UK-based Project Services team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking consultancy known for delivering strategic commercial and technical support to blue-chip clients across the infrastructure and engineering sectors.

The Role:

As part of a growing commercial advisory team, you’ll support clients and principal contractors across some of the UK’s most complex engineering and infrastructure programmes. This is a hybrid role, typically involving three days on-site or with clients, and two days working remotely.

You’ll provide full pre- and post-contract support across the project lifecycle, from procurement to final account.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing cost plans, tender documentation, and feasibility reports

*

Advising on contract strategy (NEC3/4) and administering commercial procedures

*

Supporting claims, valuations, and financial compliance

*

Liaising with stakeholders across multi-disciplinary project teams

*

Delivering detailed reporting and commercial analysis

About You:

*

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field

*

3+ years’ experience for Intermediate QS roles, 5+ years for QS

*

Background in infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or engineering sectors

*

Confident working with NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)

*

Strong communication skills and commercial awareness

*

Experience using CEMAR or similar systems is desirable

*

Progressing toward RICS chartership (or keen to pursue)
