General Foreman – Highways – Permanent

Location: Birmingham (site-based, with reasonable travel if needed)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

A long-term opportunity has come up for an experienced General Foreman to join a busy civils division on a major infrastructure project in Birmingham. This is a multi-year highways scheme involving junction upgrades, road widening, and public realm works.

You’ll be working for a well-established Tier 1 civils contractor with a strong order book and a reputation for delivering complex infrastructure packages across the UK, typically valued between £20–100M.

Role:

* Oversee site teams and subcontractors

* Drive production to meet programme targets

* Day-to-day site management and reporting

* Maintain H&S standards (toolbox talks, inductions, compliance)

* Liaise with the PM and engineering team

Requirements:

* CSCS (Supervisory or Manager level)

* SSSTS or SMSTS

* First Aid at Work

* Experience delivering highways/civils schemes (£10M+)

* Solid understanding of HSEQ and traffic-sensitive environments

* Strong communication and leadership skills on multidisciplinary sites

* Technically competent with good IT/computer literacy
