Senior Planner

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our client's team on a major new build development project in Edinburgh. This is a rare opportunity to become involved in a landmark, multi-phase scheme from its early strategic stages, offering excellent job security.

About the Role

As Senior Planner, you’ll play a key role in shaping the direction of a significant new build development, covering residential, commercial, and infrastructure components. You’ll work closely with the Project Director, design team, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure successful planning strategy and programme development from inception through delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage project programmes using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject)

Lead strategic planning and phasing from pre-construction through to completion

Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies

Engage with key stakeholders, clients, and consultants

Support bid and procurement processes where required

Report regularly on programme status and updates to senior leadership

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a similar role on large-scale new build or infrastructure projects

Strong understanding of planning processes and programme management

Ability to lead and influence early-stage strategic planning

Skilled in planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or MS Project

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Degree qualified in construction, engineering, or a related discipline
