Location: Central London, UK
Salary: £80,000 – £120,000 per annum + comprehensive package ( car allow, bonus, pension, private healthcare)
About Our Client:
Our client is a leading main contractor renowned for delivering high-quality, complex projects across the UK. This particular division specializes in new build and refurbishment schemes valued up to £200m. Projects include iconic office developments, luxury hotels, and state-of-the-art educational facilities. We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team in Central London, contributing to transformative projects that shape communities and industries.
Role Overview:
Based in our client’s Central London office, you will work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and design teams to deliver robust tender submissions for both new build and refurbishment schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop detailed cost estimates.
* Analyse project specifications, drawings, and Bills of Quantities to produce comprehensive pricing models.
* Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimize costs while maintaining quality and compliance with industry standards
* Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to gather pricing data and ensure competitive tender submissions.
* Present cost estimates and tender strategies to senior management and clients, supporting bid negotiations.
* Contribute to pre-construction planning, aligning estimates with project schedules and delivery programmes.
* Stay informed on market trends, material costs, and labour rates specific to commercial, hospitality, and education sectors.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Estimator in construction with a tier 1 / tier 2 contractor
* Prior experience of 2 stage / PCSA
* Proven track record of delivering accurate estimates for projects valued up to £200m.
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies
* Proficiency in estimating software
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ideally a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Membership in RICS, CIOB, or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines.
