Key Responsibilities

Framework Assembly
*
Erect steel components (columns, beams, braces) using bolts, rivets, or welds.
*
Align structures to precise tolerances (e.g., ±3mm deviation).

Blueprint Interpretation
*
Read and implement engineering drawings (GA, detail, and connection drawings).
*
Verify dimensions and positions via laser levels, plumb bobs, and total stations.
3.
Crane Operations
*
Signal crane operators (CPCS A40) during lifts using BS 7121 hand signals.
*
Secure loads with slings/chains and ensure weight limits are respected.
4.
Welding/Bolting
*
Perform on-site welding (if coded) to BS EN ISO 3834 standards.
*
Torque bolts to specified tensions (e.g., HRC bolts to 300 Nm).
5.
Safety & Compliance
*
Follow Work at Height Regulations 2005 (harnesses, scaffolding, MEWPs).
*
Conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments for tasks like connector decking.
*
Adhere to CDM 2015 and site-specific rules (e.g., exclusion zones)
