Assistant Site Manager – New Build Industrial

Location: Ipswich
Duration: 8-Month Contract
Type: Freelance

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Site Manager for a new build industrial project based in Ipswich. This is an 8-month programme involving the full construction of a steel-frame industrial unit with associated office space and external works.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Site Manager with day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the required standard.

Coordinate subcontractors and manage on-site labour, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.

*

Conduct site inductions, maintain site diaries, and contribute to regular progress reporting.

*

Assist with quality control, snagging, and resolution of on-site issues.

*

Liaise with suppliers, consultants, and the wider project team to maintain efficient workflow.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience working on new build industrial projects is essential.

*

Valid SSSTS or SMSTS, CSCS card, and First Aid certification.

*

Strong organisational and communication skills.

*

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and programmes.
