Job Title: Generic Trades Operative Department: Housing – Repairs & Maintenance

The Role: We’re looking for a skilled and versatile Trades Operative to join our award-winning in-house maintenance team. You’ll carry out responsive repairs across council housing, civic buildings, and other properties, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

Key Duties:
Carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance, aiming for first-time fixes

Use mobile devices to manage and complete jobs

Communicate professionally with tenants, keeping them informed throughout the work

Maintain a clean, safe work environment and complete all relevant safety checks

Support and supervise apprentices when required

Keep accurate records of work, materials, and time

Purchase materials efficiently and report any issues or improvements

Follow all health and safety procedures and use appropriate PPE

Promote teamwork, good customer care, and a positive working environment

What You’ll Need:
Broad trade experience in property maintenance

Strong focus on quality, safety, and customer service

Ability to use mobile technology

Full UK driving license
