Site Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways and earthworks scheme based in Sheffield. This is a long-term contract role running for 10–12 months, offering a competitive daily rate of £380 – £420, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting out for highways, drainage, earthworks and associated civil works

*

Ensuring all works are delivered to the required technical standards and in line with programme

*

Managing and maintaining QA records and as-built documentation

*

Coordinating with subcontractors, site management, and the design team

*

Monitoring HSEQ compliance and escalating any issues as needed

Essential Requirements:

*

Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer on highways, earthworks, or large civil engineering projects

*

Proficient in the use of GPS and total station equipment for setting out

*

Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, especially relating to groundworks and road construction

*

CSCS card (required), with SMSTS or SSSTS being advantageous

*

HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
