Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

📍 Bristol | 💼 Regional Construction Business | 💰 Up to £45,000 + Package

Walker & Sloan are working with a well-established regional construction business based in Bristol, who are looking to bring a Junior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator into their growing commercial team.

This is a permanent, full time role with strong development potential and a clear route to progressing within a supportive and experienced commercial team.

The Role

You’ll be working closely with the commercial and pre-construction team, assisting in the estimation and commercial management of a range of projects – typically across refurbishment, fit-out, and new build sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions and take-offs

* Supporting cost planning, valuations, and variations

* Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing and negotiation

* Tracking project costs and maintaining financial records

* Helping manage change control and reporting

The Ideal Candidate

This role would suit someone early in their QS or estimating career – either from a main contractor or subcontractor background, though experience working for a specialist subcontractor (e.g. groundworks, interiors, M&E, civils) would be especially valuable.

You should ideally have:

* 1–3 years' experience in a relevant commercial role

* A relevant qualification (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar

* Good numeracy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach

* Comfortable working in a team and confident communicating with suppliers and clients
