About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading Tier 1 main contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a flagship £225m mixed-use scheme in Cardiff. The project includes the construction of Live Nation’s brand-new 17,000-capacity arena, forming part of the Atlantic Wharf regeneration—a landmark development for South Wales.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in managing commercial aspects of this complex scheme, overseeing major packages, subcontractor management, and cost control on one of Wales’ most high-profile live entertainment projects.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and administer key subcontract packages

*

Produce and monitor CVRs, forecasting and cost planning

*

Lead procurement and tendering strategies

*

Interface with client-side teams and consultants

*

Support and mentor junior surveyors in the team

*

Ensure contract compliance (NEC or JCT depending on package)

Requirements

*

Experience working with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor

*

Proven track record on large-scale commercial or mixed-use schemes

*

Strong knowledge of construction contracts (ideally NEC)

*

Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management

*

Based within commutable distance to Cardiff or open to travel
