The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for the principal contractor on high-profile defence project in Cumbria, applying best commercial practices to maximise project profitability and financial performance.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading a small but capable commercial team
*
Reviewing and interpreting contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities
*
Ensuring compliance with all contract requirements
*
Managing cash flow forecasts, payment applications, and revenue monitoring
*
Overseeing subcontractor procurement and management
*
Producing accurate cost, revenue, and margin reports
*
Negotiating final accounts and assisting with dispute resolution
*
Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues
About You
*
Due to the nature of the project, this role will require a level of security clearance only available to UK citizens.
*
Proven experience delivering the commercial function on medium to large construction projects
*
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
*
Confident in forecasting, cost control, and contract negotiation
*
Capable of working independently and as part of a team
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
