Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Repairs Supervisor to cover a vacant post within its Housing & Regeneration team. You will be responsible for supervising a team of high-performing repairs operatives to ensure high standards of workmanship, health and safety compliance, and efficient service delivery across tenanted and void properties.

This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring a strong trade background, extensive experience in social housing, and the ability to manage multi-trade projects, diagnostics, and quality control inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support a team of repairs operatives, ensuring high quality work and efficient use of materials.

*

Undertake complex diagnostics and coordinate multi-trade repair projects, particularly for issues affecting multiple properties (e.g., major leaks).

Provide expert knowledge across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, decorating, plastering, and tiling.

*

Conduct regular toolbox talks and one-to-one meetings with operatives to maintain high standards and performance.

*

Carry out pre- and post-inspections of tenanted properties to ensure work quality and customer satisfaction.

*

Oversee the voids team, ensuring properties are turned around within agreed timescales.

*

Attend evening tenant association meetings and be responsive to both internal and external customer needs.

*

Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations in all work activities.

*

Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota as required.

*

Flexibly support emergency response services and attend occasional evening/weekend meetings.

Essential Skills & Experience:

1.

Extensive experience working in social housing, ideally with a strong trade background.

2.

Ability to communicate effectively and fluently in English, both verbally and in writing, including use of handheld technology.

3.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; courteous and professional in all interactions.

4.

Strong understanding of building regulations, compliance requirements, and site operations.

5.

Proven experience in supervising and motivating trade operatives to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.

6.

Knowledge and experience of statutory health & safety legislation, including conducting risk assessments and method statements.

7.

Ability to carry out quality control inspections and manage contractor performance.

8.

Flexible approach to working, including availability for out-of-hours and weekend duties.

9.

Experience across a range of trades carpentry, plumbing decorating, plastering and tiling.

Vehicle and fuel card will be provided by Enfield Council.
