Strategic Project Manager

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Strategic Project Manager to join our London-based team. This pivotal role will focus on the development, maintenance, and oversight of a comprehensive long-term accommodation masterplan. The successful candidate will proactively identify capacity constraints, risks, and opportunities across our portfolio and ensure that evolving space requirements are fully understood and strategically planned.
Working at the intersection of Capital Projects, Estates, and Clinical Planning, the role supports alignment between infrastructure and operational needs across clinical, non-clinical, and community services supporting smarter, future-ready estate development.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver plans effectively while ensuring timelines and cost targets are met. Coordinate internal and external resources aligned with Project Objectives.
Stakeholder Management: Build and manage strong relationships with Healthcare Clients, Principal Contractors, Consultants, and wider stakeholders. Facilitate communication to keep all parties aligned on progress, expectations, and goals. Negotiating timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies specific to healthcare environments. Maintain on going monitoring for potential issues and implementing contingency plans where necessary.
Quality Assurance: Maintain exceptional quality standards in all areas of delivery, ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations, client specifications, and safety requirements.
Cost Control: Monitor budgets and expenditure closely, ensuring efficient use of resources while exploring cost-saving opportunities that do not compromise on quality.
Team Leadership: Lead and inspire project teams, ensuring a collaborative and solution-focused working culture. Provide guidance, delegate tasks, and manage performance.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare clear and concise reports for clients and senior stakeholders. Maintain accurate
Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Project Management Certification (e.g., APM, PMP) – essential.
Professional Membership (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) or relevant master's degree – desirable.
Minimum 10+ years' experience, preferably within the healthcare sector (or demonstrable, highly transferable experience from another complex sector).
Generating leads and driving business development – essential.
Strong track record of managing construction projects across all project phases, from feasibility to delivery.
In-depth knowledge of UK construction legislation, including healthcare design standards (HTMs/HBNs).
Experience working in live healthcare environments with awareness of infection control and operational protocols.
Familiarity with healthcare delivery models (primary, secondary, tertiary) and how physical infrastructure impacts clinical workflows.
Technical Skills

Proven ability to manage construction projects from pre-construction through to handover.
Strong planning, scheduling, and resource management skills.
Proficient in using project management software (e.g., MS Project (Asta Powerproject, Primavera.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of UK construction regulations, with specific understanding of healthcare compliance standards.
