Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor – Hotel Refurbishment
Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: £90,000 – £120,000 (depending on experience) + Full Package & Bonus

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to commercially lead the refurbishment of a prestigious hotel project in Hertfordshire for a well-known main contractor. This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of the commercial management of a high-profile project with a reputable main contractor, ensuring financial success and effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

* Take commercial ownership of the hotel refurbishment project, ensuring all financial aspects are managed efficiently and effectively.

* Lead the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accurate financial control and reporting.

* Manage and monitor subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

* Collaborate closely with the project management team, client, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met within budget and on time.

* Conduct regular cost reporting and provide detailed analysis of project performance, identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings.

* Negotiate and resolve any commercial issues with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

* Ensure that all variations and change orders are accurately recorded and managed, with proper approval processes in place.

* Oversee the preparation and submission of final accounts, ensuring the project is financially closed out successfully.

* Monitor and enforce contractual obligations, including terms and conditions, ensuring compliance throughout the project.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in hotel or hospitality refurbishment projects.

* Experience with a well-known, reputable main contractor, particularly in large-scale refurbishments or new builds.

* Stability in your career history, demonstrating a successful track record of delivering high-value projects.

* Strong knowledge of commercial management, cost control, and contract administration within the construction sector.

* Experience in managing multi-million-pound budgets and complex financial reporting.

* Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve disputes and drive commercial solutions.

* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction field (or equivalent experience).

* Full understanding of JCT or similar contracts and a solid grasp of construction law.

* Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and senior project teams.

In return, our client is offering a basic salary between £90k – £120k (depending on experience) + full package & bonus
