Our client is a leading Engineering and Construction company, delivering design-and-build projects with clients across the UK water sector. They pride themselves on client relationships which results in repeat business on long term frameworks and alliances.

We are looking for a Head of Commercial to work within an 8-company water alliance. You’ll be driving the commercial success of a business unit looking after a portfolio of projects circa £600m – £750m over a five-year period. A flexible hybrid working arrangement is on offer.

Responsibilities

* Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute commercial strategies that enhance performance and align with our outperformance targets.

* Performance Management: Oversee the commercial performance of the Business Unit, ensuring effective cost assurance, KPI reporting, and governance.

* Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to deliver seamless integration across the supply chain.

* Procurement & Supply Chain Management: Drive procurement innovation and ensure supply chain performance aligns with programme goals.

* Team Leadership & Development: Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, care, and continuous improvement.

* Health, Safety & Wellbeing: Champion a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing across the team and supply chain.

Experience required

* Experience within a design and build environment (Construction, Civil Engineering or Utilities).

* Significant experience in a senior leadership role.

* A strong commercial acumen with experience in contract management, procurement, and estimating.

* Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.

* A track record of leading successful teams and delivering business objectives at a strategic level.

* The ability to drive innovation, improve processes, and deliver exceptional results
