Senior Quantity Surveyor – Refurbishment (Social Housing)
Location: Barnet (1-2 days office-based, 3 days on site)
Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per annum
Type: Full-time, Permanent

They are a fast-growing social housing company looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic organisation that is delivering high-quality refurbishment projects and making a real difference to communities across the region.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for refurbishment schemes valued between £3m – £4m. You will be responsible for cost management, contract administration, and ensuring projects are delivered profitably, on time, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all commercial aspects of refurbishment projects within the social housing sector.

Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets and forecasts.

Undertake valuations, variations, and final accounts.

Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.

Prepare and negotiate contracts, procurement schedules, and cost reports.

Provide accurate financial reporting and risk management.

Work collaboratively with site teams and attend site 3 days per week, with 1-2 days based in the office.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment.

Strong background in refurbishment projects, ideally in the social housing sector.

Track record of managing projects in the range of £3m – £4m.

Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, and cost management.

Ability to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Relevant qualifications (e.g. Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent)
