£60,000 – £70,000 DOE complimented by package 

Are you an experienced Technical Manager with a strong background in passive fire protection? This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of technical development, product innovation, and certification for a well-established UK manufacturing and distribution group.

The Role

As Technical Manager, you will:

Lead the development of new products and solutions across multiple business areas

Oversee testing and certification, including EN 1634-1 and BS 476 standards

Manage the certification process with notified bodies and internal testing facilities

Provide technical support to both customers and the sales team

Contribute to product design, working alongside engineering colleagues (including CAD input)

Stay up to date with industry standards and future requirements, representing the company at events and seminars

Support business development by identifying new applications, solutions, and customers

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

A proven background in passive fire protection products (fire stopping, fire doors, or similar)

Experience in testing and certification of fire protection systems

Strong technical management skills, with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Product design knowledge and the ability to interpret research into practical solutions

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Flexibility to support wider manufacturing processes and engineering colleagues
