Quantity Surveyor – Planned Maintenance Location: Leeds Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 + package

Your new role
Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Leeds office, focusing on planned maintenance projects. This role will involve managing the commercial and financial aspects of contracts, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with client expectations. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams and senior management, contributing to the success of multiple planned works schemes.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing the financial and contractual aspects of planned maintenance projects.

Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.

Overseeing procurement, tendering, and contract negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.

Producing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.

Managing variations, change control, and risk management.

Liaising with site teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery.

Monitoring project costs and progress to ensure works are completed on time and within budget.

Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, and health & safety standards.

Supporting the mentoring and development of junior commercial staff as required.

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within planned maintenance, refurbishment, or housing frameworks.

Strong knowledge of contract management, ideally JCT and NEC.

Track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

RICS membership or working towards is advantageous.

Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
