Project Manager

I am working alongside a leading civil engineering contractor who are currently looking to hire an experienced Project Manager due to a number of new contracts being awarded. My client operates across the civils sector on renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities:

* Attend tender handover meetings to understand project scope, contract obligations, client priorities, and risks/opportunities.

* Hold regular customer meetings to ensure project goals and expectations are met or exceeded.

* Manage subcontractor pre-start meetings aligned with the programme and build needs.

* Create and maintain a project risk and opportunity register to guide site team focus.

* Ensure the company brand is represented positively per brand guidelines.

* Lead the team in applying the Right Work Code to maintain safety and quality standards.

* Plan and coordinate resources (equipment, labour, materials, transport) for project efficiency.

* Align site activities with the programme, considering design and procurement lead times.

* Oversee execution of works to meet programme timelines.

* Collaborate with the commercial team to track forecasts, value, and costs; manage risk and improve margins.

* Drive team performance, support development, and manage subcontractor relationships.

* Develop and implement a strategy to prevent defects throughout the project and defects period.

* Lead problem resolution on site and escalate to senior management as needed.

* Ensure compliance with the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS).

* Monitor progress against the project plan.

* Engage with the community to promote construction careers and strengthen the company’s reputation.

* Ensure high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental control on site.

* Promote strong HSEQ practices within the site team.

* Follow responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Policy.

Requirements:

* Experience with NEC and substations.

* SMSTS ticket holder.

* CSCS card.

* Right to work in the UK.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Strong communication skills.
