The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and oversee the safety, health, and well-being of the project team and site operations on a £50m large-scale warehouse and distribution facility in Bristol. You will develop, implement, and manage comprehensive, site-specific health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with statutory legislation and industry best practices, while promoting a proactive safety culture across all aspects of the project.

First Aid
CSCS Card
Health & Safety Related Qualification and/or MembershipExperience:
Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working in a similar position for a leading contractor or subcontractor
Proven track record of working in a Health & Safety position on major/large scale developments in the industrial sectorKey Skills:

Maintain regular communication and provide updates to the Project Director
Present ongoing health and safety performance information to senior management
Ensure policies are implemented successfully and embedded within daily operations
Advise and guide employees on best practices for health and safety in the workplace
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety laws and regulatory requirements
Create and deliver tailored health and safety training programs to suit all employee roles
Establish and implement preventative measures to control hazards and reduce potential risks
Implement and oversee routine workplace inspections to maintain health and safety standards
Undertake internal audits to ensure workplace practices align with health and safety standards
Oversee health and safety program budgets to optimise resource allocation and cost-efficiency
Keep comprehensive documentation of incidents, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance
Conduct health and safety training to ensure staff awareness of procedures and legal obligations
Regularly evaluate and update risk assessments and control measures to ensure they remain effective
Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, First Aid protocols, and regular drills
Establish robust health and safety policies that align with legal obligations and are tailored to the organisation's particular needs
Consistently evaluating and updating health and safety programs to address emerging risks and enhance workplace safety
Undertake comprehensive risk assessments to anticipate potential hazards, ensuring preventive actions are in place to protect staff and operations
Actively promote and implement sustainable health and safety practices to ensure long-term compliance and a safe working environment
