We are working with a long-established and highly regarded main contractor, known for delivering complex, design-led commercial projects across London. They are now seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Construction Manager to help lead a flagship £40M Cat B fit-out scheme in Central London.
This is a fast-paced, high-profile project requiring a confident leader who can drive delivery, manage teams, and maintain exceptional standards from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring programme milestones and quality benchmarks are met
* Lead and mentor site teams, subcontractors, and junior managers
* Collaborate with the Project Director and wider team to maintain detailed programmes and resource plans
* Drive health & safety compliance across the site
* Resolve technical and delivery issues with design, commercial, and client teams
* Monitor budgets, progress, and quality, with regular reporting to senior stakeholders
* Act as the key site contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders
* Manage snagging, handover, and close-out documentation
Ideal Candidate:
* Proven track record delivering £10m+ commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects in London
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Deep understanding of construction sequencing and technical coordination
* Excellent client-facing skills and confidence in leading meetings
* Commercially aware, proactive, and quality-focused
* Able to thrive under pressure and solve problems in fast-paced environments
