Project Planner – Rail
Our client, a distinguished consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Planner with significant experience in rail projects to join their team on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will see you work on a major rail infrastructure programme being delivered from Leeds.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules
Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines
Conducting periodic programme reviews and schedule maintenance
Integrating risk management strategies into project plans
Generating and presenting project reports to stakeholders
Ensuring that the project adheres to all contractual requirements and goals
Using software planning tools to create and manage project schedules
Supporting the integration of multiple contractor submissions into the overall schedule
Job Requirements:
Experience in major rail projects
Knowledge of NEC4 schedule contractual requirements
Proficiency in using basic and advanced IT systems
Understanding of project/programme planning and scheduling tools, including P6
Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels
Ability to assess planning requirements and make pragmatic decisions
Strong team leadership and motivational skills
Experience in working with engineering, construction, and access disciplines
Graduate level with strategic thinking capabilities
Desirable Skills:
Excellent presentation skills
Willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in Visio for visualising schedules
Knowledge in the use of Power BI
