Contracts Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join a leading utilities and energy contractor, overseeing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of contracts across the region. Reporting directly to the Regional Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring contracts are delivered effectively, safely, and within budget, while also developing strong client and contractor relationships.
This is a fantastic role for an experienced contracts professional looking to take ownership of projects within the utilities/energy sector and contribute to the continued growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operation and maintenance of contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

Manage engineering performance, scheduling, service delivery, and reporting.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers, including attendance at regular meetings.

Monitor and report on contract performance, producing KPI reports and addressing underperformance.
*
Support contractual compliance across the business, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated and adhered to.
*
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery.
*
Mentor, coach, and lead a team of engineers, holding regular one-to-ones and performance reviews.
*
Monitor budgets to ensure contracts are delivered cost-effectively.
*
Work with planners to ensure works are scheduled and delivered in line with agreements.
*
Attend client or resident meetings when required.
What You Will Need
*
Proven management experience in operating and maintaining Energy Centres / Utility Plants (CHP, Heat Pumps, Boilers, Water Treatment, District Heating, Generators, etc.).
*
Strong technical knowledge across CHP, Gas Engines, Heat Pumps, Boilers, District Heating or similar systems.
*
Electrical or Mechanical qualifications (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
*
Minimum 2 years’ contract management experience within Construction, FM, Energy, or Utilities.
*
Strong leadership and safety management experience.
*
Experience in ESCO environments (desirable).
