Role Overview
Our client is a bridge lending business that specialises in providing short-term finance to small and medium-sized property developers, traders, and investors. All loans are typically secured against completed or refurbishment, residential and some commercial projects.
Our client is seeking a qualified MRICS Chartered Surveyor to join our in-house team, focusing on property valuations and risk assessments for bridging and development finance. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all loan applications are underpinned by accurate, market-aligned valuations and comprehensive due diligence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct internal desktop and site-based valuations in line with RICS standards
* Review third-party valuation reports and assess property risks for secured lending
* Evaluate development projects for feasibility, cost, and return analysis
* Collaborate with underwriting, legal, and operations teams throughout the loan lifecycle
* Produce clear, structured reports and recommendations for lending decisions
* Monitor market trends to support accurate valuations and risk mitigation
* Assist with distressed asset strategies and exit planning
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and Red Book standards
Key Requirements:
* MRICS Chartered Surveyor with 5+ years’ experience (3+ post-qualification)
* Strong background in valuations for lending, development, or investment
* Solid understanding of property law, planning, and development viability
* Analytical and commercially astute, with excellent communication skills
* Comfortable with both field inspections and desktop assessments
Desirable:
* Experience in bridging or development finance
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
* Proactive and collaborative, with a strong risk management mindset
