Section Engineer needed in London

Length of contract: 2 Years

Locations: London

Position: Section Engineer

Hours per day: 9 + overtime on weekens

Pay rate: £400 – £450 per day (depending on experience)

Start date: Immediate Start

We are currently looking for a Section Engineer to work for one of the UKs leading Civil contractors in London. This is an opportunity to manage site Engineers, work closely with the Site Agent, and make sure the quality, technical, safety and programme is fully compliant across the project. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years experience and have strong knowledge within the civil space.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage and mentor Site Engineers, ensuring accurate setting out and compliance.
• Provide technical support, liaising with Site Agent, Project Manager, and stakeholders.
• Prepare and review work package plans, budgets, and cost estimates.
• Maintain site documentation, records, and contractual reporting.
• Monitor health & safety, quality, and environmental standards (IMS compliance).
• Lead site meetings, daily briefings, and progress reporting.
• Liaise with authorities, regulatory bodies, and commercial teams.
• Promote a strong safety culture and collaborative site environment.

Requirement
• Demonstrated experience as a Section Engineer within the civil space
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and proficiency in site documentation.
• SMSTS & First Aid certification; good understanding of H&S / CDM legislation.
• Autocad, CPCS Appointed Person, and Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable).
