True are partnering with a respected and growing principle contractor specialising in low-carbon energy solutions and retrofit projects across the UK & Ireland. With a new library decarbonisation scheme now secured, they’re looking to appoint a Site Manager to oversee the full mechanical package on this flagship retrofit project.

As Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and site teams, managing health & safety compliance, and ensuring mechanical installations are delivered to the highest quality. You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the project, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver on programme, budget, and performance targets.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical oversight, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to drive standards on site. You’ll play a key role in ensuring this high-profile public-sector retrofit meets both decarbonisation goals and operational requirements.

We’re looking for someone with:

*

Strong background delivering mechanical building services installations (HVAC, heating, pipework, controls)

*

Previous site management experience within retrofit or decarbonisation projects (public buildings preferred)

*

Proven track record managing subcontractors and trades on site

*

Excellent knowledge of health & safety, with SMSTS and CSCS qualifications

*

Ability to run site operations independently while liaising with clients and project managers

*

Strong organisational and communication skills

Desirable experience:

*

Delivery of low-carbon retrofit projects (libraries, schools, leisure centres, or similar public-sector schemes)

*

Knowledge of heat pumps, district heating, or other renewable/energy efficiency technologies
