Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for long-term stability and the chance to take ownership of a major framework? This is a unique opportunity to work on one of London’s most high-profile council partnerships, with a steady pipeline of external refurbishment schemes for years to come.
The Company
Our client is one of the fastest growing social housing contractors in the UK. Known for delivering high-quality residential and education refurbishment projects, they are now the sole contractor appointed to deliver works across one of London’s largest frameworks.
With approx. £2–3 million of work per year – consisting of individual projects ranging from £10k to £500k – this role offers both security and variety for an ambitious QS.
The Opportunity
As the dedicated Quantity Surveyor on this partnering framework, you’ll take commercial ownership of a wide range of external and structural refurbishment projects across the Borough. You’ll work closely with Contracts Managers, supply chain partners, and the client to ensure projects are delivered profitably and to the highest standard.
With the right performance, this role provides a clear route into a Senior QS position and beyond.
Key responsibilities
• Full commercial ownership of projects from procurement through to final account
• Managing budgets, CVRs, valuations, variations and payments across multiple live projects
• Supporting Contracts Managers with forecasting and financial control
• Liaising directly with client-side commercial teams under the partnering model
• Ensuring compliance with company and client procedures
• Supporting supply chain performance and value engineering initiatives
The work involves:
• External brickwork and concrete fabric repairs
• DOFF cleaning and façade treatment
• Window and door replacements
• FRA works – including communal fire doors, loft partitions and fire stopping
• Roofing – both pitched and flat systems
• Liquid waterproofing (balconies/walkways)
• Balcony balustrade replacements
• Landscaping and cast iron RWG replacements
• External decorations and general fabric repairs
Ideal candidate:
• Strong background in external/social housing refurbishment, ideally on occupied properties
• Experience running multiple projects/contracts (£10k–£500k) within a framework model
• Commercially astute, able to manage budgets and forecast with confidence
• Strong client-facing skills, able to build and maintain trusted relationships
• 5+ years’ experience as a QS within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environment
Qualifications required:
• BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
• CSCS Card (Black or White)
• Asbestos Awareness
• First Aid at Work (preferred)
• RICS membership (desirable but not essential)
Working set-up:
• 1 day in our office
• 1 day per week in Local Borough office (partnering model)
• Remaining time spent on-site
