Compensation: £55-£65/hr (dependant on experience)
The role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will provide Quantity Surveying expertise in support of projects as part of our Nuclear Defence Support programme.
Day-to-day, you'll work with key internal stakeholders, client and suppliers/subcontractors to drive both strategic value and operational excellence through all levels of the business.
– Provide commercial management and support to Quantity Surveyor's as may be applicable for each project / contract
– Review contracts and draft subcontract terms as required and appropriate
– Provide commercial support and expertise to projects being responsible for a range of commercial activities (bid governance, reviews, change management, compensation event contractual notices, etc.)
– Manage the tender process and the evaluation of all major/bespoke equipment /service providers ensuring they are fairly, robustly and adequately evaluated both commercially and technically and any evaluation is documented and will stand up to scrutiny by third parties
– Manage the post contract commercial management of subcontracts during project execution phases and mitigating the business exposure to subcontractor claims
– Settlement of Final Accounts with Sub-contractors
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office/onsite and two days working from home and is based at our Birchwood, Warrington hub.
Essential experience of the Senior Quantity Surveyor
– Good understanding of day-to-day commercial administration in the Engineering and Construction industries
– Experience in managing multiple projects at any given time
– Excellent generalist commercial experience
– Experience in delivering to project commercial strategy, and to delivering on large and complex contracts and bids
– Experience in supporting large-scale projects and complex change initiatives using appropriate methodologies
– Excellent NEC4 skills ideally Professional Services Contract
– Experience in the use of CEMAR for contract administration and change management under NEC contracts
Qualifications for the Senior Quantity Surveyor
– Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Building Services Quantity Surveying or have a general degree in Quantity Surveying
