A client within the Public Sector based in Devon is currently recruiting for an Estates Surveyor to join their Corporate Property team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a landlord, tenant and commercial property environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is the commercial estate management of the Council’s diverse commercial property portfolio and providing property advice to other service units.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Undertaking valuations and negotiations on leases, licences, rent reviews, lease renewals, acquisitions and disposals
• Overseeing day-to-day property management including service charges, consents, dilapidations and tenant management
• Providing property management advice across the Council
• Supporting and mentoring Assistant Estates Surveyors in their caseload and professional development
• Preparing reports, valuations and recommendations in line with property law and council policies

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS)
• Eligibility as a RICS Registered Valuer
• Significant post-qualification experience in commercial estate management
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Supervisory or mentoring skills
• Experience working with public or voluntary sectors
• Awareness of Health & Safety legislation in property management

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £400 per day Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £300 per day PAYE).
