SHEQ Auditor & Systems Manager

Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive SHEQ Auditor & Systems Manager to join our team. This pivotal role ensures that our risk management, governance, and control processes operate effectively across the business. You will be responsible for preparing for and leading audits with external accreditation bodies, driving continuous improvement across our management systems, and building strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
The role is varied and offers the opportunity to support the business across multiple sectors and regions, while being primarily based at our Abergavenny office.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, plan, and conduct internal and external audits in line with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 requirements.
* Manage and continually improve the company’s SHEQ management systems, policies, and procedures.
* Act as the primary point of contact for external accreditation bodies, ensuring readiness for audits and maintaining compliance.
* Identify risks, non-conformances, and opportunities for improvement; develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
* Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards across operations.
* Provide coaching and support to operational teams on SHEQ matters to embed a strong culture of safety, quality, and sustainability.
* Analyse SHEQ data and trends to inform management decisions and drive performance improvements.
* Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and risk assessments as required.
* Promote engagement and awareness of SHEQ responsibilities across the business.
Essential Requirements
* Lead Auditor qualification to ISO9001 (or equivalent).
* Demonstrable experience auditing against ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.
* Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation, standards, and best practice.
* Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across operational sites.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Proactive, detail-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience managing integrated SHEQ systems.
* Previous exposure to multi-site or multi-sector organisations.
* Training or qualifications in environmental or health & safety management.
* Strong IT and data analysis skills.
