Overview

We are partnering with a national building surveying practice to expand their Reinstatement Cost Assessment (RCA) team. Due to increasing workloads across the Midlands and the North of England, they require an additional building surveyor to help calculate rebuild values for a variety of properties. This role combines site inspections with remote analysis, supporting insurers and clients with clear, reliable RCA reports.

Experience & Qualifications

* RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or Planning & Development (ideal)

* Membership of CILA or equivalent professional body (desirable)

* Background in property management, loss adjusting or insurance broking (advantageous)

* Exposure to Asset Management and Property Management within the Midlands or Northern regions

Skills, Knowledge, Understanding and Learning

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly

* Self-motivation, independence and an entrepreneurial mindset

* Problem-solving orientation and eagerness to learn through hands-on experience

* Commercial awareness, including understanding of overheads, profit and loss

* Willingness to pursue APC support and rotate through major works or general surveying teams (if not yet a chartered surveyor)

Main Duties

* Conduct site inspections to assess rebuild values, including professional fees, demolition, site clearance and material costs

* Apply established RCA procedures to produce accurate, client-ready reports

* Collaborate remotely with an expert director and country-wide surveying teams

* Manage project schedules and communicate updates to clients and insurers

* Contribute to continuous improvement of RCA methodologies
