Salary: £45,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call-Out Rota: 1 in 4 (£100 standby payment per week on call)Are you a skilled and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician looking for a crucial role within a busy healthcare environment? My client, a reputable, growing FM contractor, are seeking a proactive and dedicated individual to join their team at a large hospital estate in North London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who thrives on ensuring the continuous and safe operation of critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Execute a wide range of scheduled PPMs on mechanical systems, including HVAC plant (AHUs, FCUs), heating and cooling systems, pumps, valves, and associated pipework.

Reactive Maintenance & Fault Finding: Respond promptly to all mechanical breakdowns and system failures. Diagnose complex faults accurately and carry out effective repairs to minimise disruption to hospital operations.

Specialist Systems: Work on and maintain a variety of specialist mechanical equipment found in a healthcare setting, such as medical gas plant, water treatment systems, and sterilisation equipment (where trained).

Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work is carried out in strict compliance with relevant Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs), health and safety regulations, and site-specific protocols.

Water Hygiene: Conduct routine temperature monitoring, flushing, and other water hygiene tasks in line with ACoP L8 guidelines to prevent the risk of Legionella.

On-Call Rota: Participate in a 1-in-4 call-out rota for out-of-hours emergencies, for which you will receive a £100 weekly standby payment.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and incidents using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A formal qualification at NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Previous expeirence in a similar maintenance role, with a strong background in a healthcare, critical, or large commercial environment.

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of mechanical systems.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.

A full UK Driving Licence is highly desirable.
